The turbine pumps N2
Turbopumps are used in remote mining areas for water delivery to temporary reservoirs, main and local water-removing devices and mobile capacities. Besides, the turbopump is used for pumping out water in emergency. The description of turbopump work: The bottom part of the turbopump`s case is executed like spiral casing passing in a delivery nozzle. The one is attached with the hose bringing water to rubber membrane of turbopump`s safety valve. Pressure of water on membrane keeps the valve abroach while pressure on the handle is finishing. The valve automatically disconnects air giving in the turbine if water pressure in a delivery nozzle is below 8m. To ensure turbopump`s functioning with a pressure less than 8m (for example while water is pumping out into the passing tub), special orifice is being established in the delivery nozzle. Pump`s switching-off is manually made by pressing the handle in the opposite direction. Depending on compressed air pressure, frequency of turbopump rotation changes from 4000 to 7500 rpm (revolutions per minute), providing the expense from 10 to 40 m/h at a pressure from 10 to 50m.
The name Turbopump is given because this pneumatic centrifugal pump is equipped by a turbine drive – the pneumatic active turbine which is built in the general aluminum case with a cover.
The cover of the aluminum case is cast with the handle where there is exhaust passage for exhausted air.
The preventive (safety) valve of case block is attached with the plane of special cast in the turbopump case`s top part.
By pressing the handle, valve is rising over a saddle compressing a spring. At the moment compressed air, brought to the union, starts to arrive through the valve and turbine nozzles on frontal shovels of a rotor`s wreath, rotating a rotor with the driving wheel which is fixed on the pump`s shaft.
The return valve is being established on the discharge conduit, if geodetic height of water rising more than 8m. It is becoming closed after the pump`s stop and isolates a membrane cavity from liquid column pressure in a discharge conduit, providing automatic switching-off of the turbine by a safety valve.
